Dr. Brodner explains the Balloon Sinus Dilation Treatment
find instant relief that lasts
Office sinus dilation is a minimally invasive option that is performed by Dr.Brodner right here, in our office. The goal of office sinus dilation is to reshape anatomy to expand sinus pathways and restore drainage. Here's how it works:
The procedure utilizes small balloons placed in key locations within the nose, which are then dilated to expand the sinus pathways. The balloon is removed immediately and does NOT stay within the sinus like a stent. It is a scientifically-proven effective and lasting option for some patients whose symptoms do not resolve with medication.
The office sinus dilation procedure is performed using local anesthesia -- the inside of the nose is numbed with a spray and small injection, allowing the patient to sit comfortably and wide awake during the entire process. The average pain score, as rated by actual patients, averages LESS THAN 2 out of 10 and all of Dr. Brodner's patients require only Tylenol if they experience discomfort.
There is no recovery period -- Dr. Brodner simply requests his patients not blow the nose for the first 24 hours after Balloon Sinus Dilation; otherwise, patients are encouraged to resume all of their usual daily activities immediately upon leaving our office.
